This is a great exercise for strengthening and toning your abs and upper body. It combines two movements into one, allowing you to work on your core and upper body muscles simultaneously. In this exercise, you’ll use a medicine ball to add resistance to your crunches and presses, making it more challenging and effective. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced fitness enthusiast, this exercise can help you achieve your fitness goals. So let’s dive into the steps to perform the Medicine Ball Crunch & Press.
How to perform Medicine Ball Crunch & Press
- Grab a mat and lay down flat on your back facing your machine or foot holder.
- Bend your knees to create a 90-degree angle with your feet locked using an attachment as a foot holder.
- Hold a medicine ball close to your chest. This will be your starting position.
- Exhale and roll your shoulders up and off the mat by contracting your abdominal muscles.
- Continue to roll your shoulders towards your knees until your abdominals are almost fully contracted.
- Press the medicine ball straight up to the sky with your palms upward while still contracting your abdominals.
- After a brief pause, inhale and return your torso back along the same path back into its starting position.
