What Do You Want Most? Finding Your Motivation

Chris Pratt was almost 30 kilos overweight before slimming down to become the action hunk we know from the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Arnold Schwarzenegger was once a skinny-armed teenager. In her 70’s, Aretha Franklin lost 40 kilos. These people all have one thing in common with most of us. At some point, they became dissatisfied with their bodies and found the motivation to change.

Making the Start

Whatever you see when you look in the mirror, whether it’s too much fat, not enough muscle, or both, you know it won’t change unless you make a change in your lifestyle, and that means you have to make a start.

Now.

Today.

That’s what those celebrities did and it’s what ordinary folks like the rest of us do every day. We make a decision to change, and we make the start.

Tomorrow Never Comes

Remember that tomorrow never comes. You might not feel like starting an exercise program today. You might not feel like adjusting your diet today. Doesn’t matter. I promise you that if you start this journey, there will be many days when you ‘just won’t feel like it’, but giving in to that is accepting that where you are now is where you’ll stay.

It all comes down to what you want the most. When the desire to change your body becomes greater than your desire to avoid the discipline and discomfort of changing, you’ll not only make the start but you’ll keep going until you reach your goal.

So. What do you want most?
