The Cable Lateral Adductor Raise is a great exercise for targeting the inner thigh muscles, specifically the adductors. It involves a cable machine and an ankle cuff to create resistance for the muscles. This exercise is perfect for people who want to tone and strengthen their inner thighs, which can help improve overall leg strength and balance. Here are the steps to perform a more effective leg workout. The exercise is easy to perform, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced fitness enthusiasts.
How to perform Cable Lateral Adductor Raise
- Attach an ankle cuff to a low cable pulley and stand with your side to the pulley system.
- Attach the cuff to the ankle closest to the cable and take a large step away from the pulley machine.
- Shift your weight onto the leg furthest from the machine (the one without the cuff) and hold onto something for stability if needed.
- Allow the ankle with the cuff to be pulled towards the machine, this is your starting position.
- Exhale and use your inner thigh muscles to move the weight-loaded ankle across your body (away from the machine) and in front of your standing foot.
- Pause briefly and inhale as you return the ankle along the same path to the starting position.
- Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions and switch to the other ankle.
