The Cable Decline Fly is a great exercise for targeting the muscles in the chest, specifically the pectoral muscles. This exercise is performed using a cable machine and involves a wide arc motion to effectively stretch and contract the chest muscles. It’s a popular choice for people looking to build upper body strength and improve their overall fitness. Here are the steps to perform a Cable Decline Fly for a more effective chest workout. This exercise is also helpful for those looking to improve posture and upper body stability. The continuous tension provided by the cable machine adds an extra level of resistance, making it a great choice for building strength and muscle mass in the chest.
How to perform Cable Decline Fly
- Attach handles to two high cables and take one in each hand while facing away from the machine.
- Bring the handles down to your shoulders and press them forward in front of you until your arms are nearly straight, maintaining a straight back throughout the movement.
- Adopt a standing, split stance with your palms facing each other. This will be your starting position.
- Inhale and begin to bring your arms back on a wide arc until your arms are out wide to the sides, with a slight bend at your elbows. Allow the weight to stretch your pectoral muscles.
- After a brief pause, exhale and return the handles back along the same path to the starting position.
