The Cable Incline Fly is a popular exercise for targeting the chest muscles and building upper body strength. By using cable pulleys and handles, you can create a controlled and consistent resistance throughout the entire movement, helping to maximize the effectiveness of the exercise. In this guide, we’ll provide step-by-step instructions on how to perform the Cable Incline Fly with proper form to help you achieve the best results. This exercise is suitable for intermediate to advanced lifters and can be incorporated into your upper body workout routine.
How to perform Cable Incline Fly
- Attach handle attachments to two low cable pulleys.
- Take one in each hand and face away from the machine.
- Bring the handles up to your shoulders and press them forward in front of you until your arms are (nearly) straight.
- Adopt a standing, split stance, maintaining a straight back throughout the movement.
- Your palms should be facing each other at 45-degree angles. This will be your starting position.
- Inhale and bring your arms back on a wide arc until your arms are out wide to the sides at waist height.
- Have a slight bend at your elbows and allow the weight to stretch your pectoral muscles.
- After a brief pause, exhale and return the handles back along the same path to the starting position.
- Pause again and contract your chest before performing another repetition.
